HOW TO: Export UDS to LAS/UDS

Exporting UDS to LAS/UDS

Export is not supported for all files - so you may not see the option appear in the selection menu. For more specific assistance, please post a message on our udStream Forum.

This section will be split up into the 2 different ways you can export a UDS model from scene:

Method 1 - Export Entire Model

  1. Login to udStream.
  2. Load UDS into Scene (either Convert from a supported file type, import and existing .uds model, or load a udStream project containing the file you want to export).
  3. Under Scene Explorer (press F4 to bring up the Scene Explorer if not already showing), right-click on the target model
  4. Select Export Pointcloud > Export entire model
  5. Under Filename, make sure to specify if you want to export the model as an .las or .uds
Be sure to specify whether you want to export the file as a UDS or LAS
Be sure you have enough space when exporting LAS. As a rule of thumb, make sure you have allocated at least 10-15x your original UDS file for your export

Method 2 - Export specific area via Filter

  1. Login to udStream.
  2. Load UDS into Scene (either Convert from a supported file type, import and existing .uds model, or load a udStream project containing the file you want to export).
  3. Add a filter to the specific area you want to export
  4. Under Scene Explorer, right-click on target model
  5. Select Export Pointcloud > Export Filter
  6. Under Filename, make sure to if you want to export the model as an .las or .uds
Be sure to specify whether you want to export the file as a UDS or LAS
